Ryanair and Aerlingus charge you more to check-in your luggage at the airport so make sure you check in online prior to departing to the airport.
RyanairWhilst you may think your flight with Ryanair is a great bargain there are a lot of hidden costs such as handling fees, baggage fees, check in fees, priority boarding, sports equipment, travel cot etc.
You can check in maximum of two bags with Ryanair with a combined weight of max. 15kg however you will be charged for each bag. If you check your baggage on line the 1st Bag - per one way flight is €15 and the second bag is charged at €35 per bag per flight. Therefore two bags booked online will cost €100 for return flights.
Any excess baggage over 15kg will be charged at €20 per kg so 20kg in two bags would cost €200 for return flights, so be very careful that you are not over 15kg.
Ryanair now charges check in fees both for checking in online and at the Airport. This charge is not applicable if you are travelling with cabin luggage only.
To check in on line the cost is €5 and to check in at the Airport is €10 per flight.
If you just have 10kg of luggage you can bring this free as cabin luggage however this must include your handbag, laptop and only lately introduced duty free and you are only allowed 1 bag.
Ryanair will carry one pushchair for children free.
Online check in is free if you just have 1 cabin luggage bag of 10kg.
